When Christ is born again

When Christ is born again

in us

and Spirit flows freely

through us,

the whole world becomes community,

differences are cherished,

all are welcome and needed,

and reflecting God’s whole kingdom

we look like this Norman Rockwell painting:

Our eyes are opened

and we see the image of God in EVERY face.

Our hearts are opened

and we are flooded with compassion

for EVERY being,

like in this photo of the staff, residents, and volunteers

at a residential HIV/AIDS treatment program called Project Lazarus,

where people with blue, blonde, black, or white hair,

who are gay, straight, bi, or transgender,

and even old men with gray beards like me are ALL welcome:

For God so loved ALL the world

that God sent God’s son

so that ALL who trust in God

could know Life forever.

May Christ be born again

in us ALL
